“For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this not from yourselves, it is the gift of God— not by works, so that no one can boast.” -Ephesians 2:8,9

Bring Gifts for the Baby
What a joyous celebration as a dear niece prepares for her first baby! We brought gifts, ate, played games, and celebrated as we await his January arrival.
But what about the child who will come on Christmas Day?
...She will give birth to a son and they will call him Immanuel, which means 'God is with us.' Matthew 1:23
The wise men brought gifts...
....Then they opened their treasure chests and gave him gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. Matthew 2:11
What gifts can we bring to our Lord and Savior as he sends his son to save us from ourselves?
Prayer, we can come on bended knee begging for forgiveness.
...."Be encouraged my child! Your sins are forgiven." Matthew 9:2
Thanksgiving, we can be thankful for a kind and merciful Savior.
....For as members of one body you are called to live in peace. And always be thankful. Colossians 3:15
Faith, we can choose to believe He is the one true God who can give us everlasting life.
..."Daughter, be encouraged! Your faith has made you well." Matthew 9:22
Worship, we can sing Him praises.
..."You must worship the Lord your God and serve only him." Matthew 4:10
Open Hearts, we can open our hearts this Christmas season to the coming of a Savior and receive His ultimate gift of grace.
So just as sin ruled over all people and brought them to death, now God's wonderful grace rules instead, giving us right standing with God and resulting in eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord. Romans 5:21
All of this is for your benefit. And as God's grace reaches more and more people, there will be great thanksgiving, and God will receive more and more glory. 2 Corinthians 4:15
... the overflowing grace God has given to you. Thank you God for this gift too wonderful for words!
2 Corinthians 9:15
Merry Christmas,
Melissa
