We just finished watching this movie and what a great movie it was! It's no surprise it was nominated for eleven 1939 Academy Awards. Mr. Smith Goes to Washington was suggested as part of Angel's government course. She's using Exploring Government by Ray Notgrass this year, among other things. The movie helped solidify the meaning of filibuster and how a bill becomes a law. It was entertaining and something we enjoyed together as a family. As we're nearing the end of the race to determine who goes to Washington this November, I recommend Mr. Smith Goes to Washington as part of your government study.
