Friday Findings...Methods of Homeschool, How Many Books?, Nature Study, and Loop Schedules...

Some time ago, I wrote a post about Various Methods of Homeschooling.  More recently Pam Barnhill of ED Snapshots wrote a series called The Ultimate Guide to Homeschool Methods, in which she shows pros and cons of several different methods.  She also has podcasts of interviews with a homeschool blogger from each method.  I've listened to a few of the podcasts and I think it's a great series whether you're new to homeschooling or just reassessing your homeschool.

As many of us are in planning mode, Adam Andrews answers the question...How many books is enough?...here in Between a Rock and a Hard Place.

Speaking of planning/scheduling, I also watched the podcast between Pam Barnhill of ED Snapshots and Sarah McKenzie of Amongst Lovely Things regarding "loop schedules", which I had not heard of prior.  I'm thinking of ways to implement this for fall.  I'll let you know if I decided to go for it :)

I applaud the teacher in this article, Out of the Classroom and Into the Woods.  She's very much in line with Charlotte Mason, but more than likely doesn't know it.

Early Academic Training Produces Long-Term Harm...well, dah!...I mean really?!.

Our computer is finally back up and running!!  I had to buy a new keyboard and mouse.  Anyway, here are some photos of LEGO heavy equipment built by Ruben, along with his parking garage...
