Friday Findings: Thankfulness, Homeschoolers & Harvard, Charlotte Mason & Learning Differences, Sea Life...

November is a real downer for me.  There is very little daylight here in WI and it seems we are under a never ending cloudiness.  The leaves have long fallen, flowers are withered, and wildlife has either flown or is crawling into hibernation.  This is the time of year I need to work especially hard to find gratitude.   As we come upon this season of Thanksgiving, I plan to include some eucharisteo links this month...

Want to be happy?  Be Grateful....check out Brother Steindl-Rast's TED talk.  He has a bit of great advice for all of us on slowing down.

Do you need a little homeschool kick in the pants?  There's a new path to Harvard and it's not in the classroom is very encouraging!

A couple weeks ago, I blogged about Charlotte Mason and Dyslexia.  This week, I found two posts by Kathy Wickward on using a Charlotte Mason education with special needs kiddos.  Here is Part 1 and Part 2.  She makes some similar points.

Field Trip

Sea Life Aquarium in MN holds homeschool week twice a year.  Last month we participated.  It was our second time there.  The kids LOVE it!  I recommend the Behind the Scenes Tour as well.  Oh, and no trip to Mall of America would be complete without a stop at American Girl and JM Cremp ;-)
